Cleaning And Organizing Your Home for a Healthier Life

Cleaning and organizing is important because your outer environments reflect your inner mind, and vice versa.  Maintaining a clean and orderly home can help improve your mental clarity, productivity, and the quality of your life.

Using safe, non-toxic or homemade, chemical-free and environmentally friendly  cleaning products can help you eliminate potentially hazardous endocrine system disrupters and other chemicals that can be harmful to health, or increase susceptibility to allergies.

Taking the time to clean, organize, and purify my living and work spaces have helped me to regain clarity, improve flow, and restore a sense of peace, which you can read more about here.

Prioritizing cleaning and organizing can help you look forward to being in your home, especially after a long day. The benefits are many! Here are just a few:

  • Greater focus
  • Feel more at ease
  • Improve flow ~ financially, professionally, and even aid in attracting the right partner!
  • Reduce time spent looking for misplaced items
  • Minimize chemical-induced allergic exposure
  • Reduce risk of skin irritations
  • Better moods
  • Minimize stress
  • Inspire greater creative expression and productivity
  • Align us with our greater values from using non-toxic products that leave a lighter footprint on the earth...

....to name a few.

While I am no way neat freak, I do know the value of having a clean, organized, and decluttered  home environment.  It is a purification of our external spaces that greatly impacts, and reflects what is going on internally.  Some spiritual scriptures call this 'God's work.'

I consider it an expression of the divinely feminine aspect of who we are as stewards and caretakers ~ especially as women!  While feminism caused many of us to shuck the mop and broom in favor of climbing the career ladder, it is still 'holy' work and energy well spent, regardless of whether being a male or female.

It is a show of respect ~ for ourselves, our dwelling spaces, and our planet.  If we want our homes to provide a sanctuary for us as a respite from our hectic lives, then we need to budget some time for maintaining our home and belongings as best we can,

One option is to hire out.  Many people don't like to clean, and rather spend their time doing other things, like, say, going for a hike outside!

My suggestion is to embrace the process of cleaning and organizing as part of our regular self-nurturing routines.  A chance to 'sweep out' the old/stale energy, and purify your living spaces.  Add essential oils to your cleaning products. It makes it more enjoyable to clean while inhaling uplifting fragrances.

Play upbeat music, make yourself a great cup of coffee, then have at it.

Cleaning and organizing doesn't have to be drudgery. Have fun, and enjoy the sweet rewards of your labors. It's an important part of living a fruitful life!

I decided to order eco-friendly dishwasher detergent pods one day, and I was glad I did. They came out great! Way less messy too!

Get the toxic chemicals out of your life!  Try any of these natural products ~ each of excellent quality.  Wool dryer balls reduce drying time.  Commercial dryer sheets are chemical-laden, and could be causing allergies for some.  Every thing you do to replace chemicals with natural, synthetic-free products will make a big improvement in your health and life!

Cleaning and organizing is about creating a space, or at least a general area, for our many varied 'things' to land ~ be they shoes or papers.  'Everything needs a home.'   One of my favorite books on organizing that I recently read is Real Life Organizing: Clean and Clutter-Free in 15 Minutes a Day, by Cassandra Aarssen, which I reviewed here.

Space clearing and feng shui are also distinct, yet important aspects to helping us uplift the energy of our home spaces using a variety of techniques from using sound, aromas, smudging, and more, along with appropriate placement of our furnishings and decorations to stimulate various aspects of our lives we are wanting to improve.

Regular decluttering, cleaning and organizing routines can help you live a more fruitful life!
